María Fernanda Sánchez-Paredes (born Mexico City, 1980). Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sciences Politics and then from Academia de San Carlos with a masters degree in Visual Arts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she has tought Image Theory since 2006. 

From 2010-2011 she was a fellow of photography by the FONCA (National Fund for Culture and Arts) at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.  Prior to that she was a fellow of the Young Creators Grant Program (2006) and the International Residency Program at the Banff Center in Canada (2008). For several years she has collaborated with photographer Gabriel Figueroa Flores on the archive of renowned cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa, as well as in the studio of fine art photography printing in Mexico City.

Her work, focuses on “certain ambiguities” of landscape and architecture, and has been exhibited in Mexico and abroad, including the Galería Santa Fe in Bogotá, The Faculty of Architecture at the UNAM and a solo exhibition at the Galería de Arte Mexicano in 2009.  Most recently, in 2010, she exhibited her work at the Contemporary Art Fair MACO. She was finalist and her work was published by the Prix Leica 2011, contest between the Royal College of Art of London, the Bielefeld School for Applied Arts and Science of Germany and the École National Supériure des Arts Déco of Paris.
